A portfolio site isnt supposed to be an index of everything youve ever created, it should be a highlight reel. It's fine if there's often cover letters will have portions where you're talking about yourself and that part you can copy and paste.But you should have a novel cover letter for each company. Another piece of advice I could share, I don't think ambitious developers want to hear it, but sometimes the right thing to do when you're not good at designer is to actually lower your ambition a little bit. And what I mean by that is if you're lucky, you'll get mobile tablet and desktop and you'll be given loading states maybe, but it's up to you to figure out how things should flex and grow and scale between those three fixed sizes.It's super common that designers will omit or forget to include loading states and error states. And it worked out perfectly because I think the book is 70 or 80 pages, so it's not huge. It's not always so easy to convince yourself when you're a new developer on the back foot, but it's great when senior developers are put in positions to mentor others, because that will challenge their understanding and help them then teach it.And from an industry perspective as well, there's only a finite number of developers in the ocean, say. So even if you don't have these like specialized interests, there're ways to find projects that are a little bit more personal to you.
